This gorgeous course lies at the feet of Puy de Dôme and Puy du Pariou, asleep volcanos. Its long fairways wind in briches and pine woods. There is no water and the fairway are wide, though it's a course where the common golfer will have difficulties to score well.
For the professionals, it's during the Open des Volcans, one of the main events of European Challenge Tour, that they will fight with the 6800 yards of the course

a long uphill par 4 with a right to left dog-leg. The fairway truns short after the drive so you must aim over the tree at left of the fairway. The green is shared with the 18th and so, huge. Beware three putts...

a slight right dog-leg rather short. The drive landing area is large, beware not to be to far right. The plateau green is strongly defended by deep bunkers and may lead to complicated putts...

another short left to right dog leg. The danger on the drive is at right with dense bushes. The gren is steeply elevated and it requires one or two more clubs. A short approach always rolls back down to the bunker from where a par is not a gimme.

a long par 4 with a slight right to left dog leg. No special problem on this one, just place well the ball on a green that slopes rather steeply from back to front.

a long par 3 to a green well defende on the left and blocked by trees on the right. A hole that requires both power and accuracy.

downhill all the way. The drive goes down from the upper level to a rather wide fairway, but beware the trees on the right. You can make the green in two with again a downhill second shot . A true birdie par 5.

an uphill drive. The two bunkers do not really menace a decent drive. The crossing green is well protected on right by a bunker. With a rather flat green, this hole should not be a problem...

a long par 5 going smoothly downhill. A good drive must cut over the bunch of trees on the left. Beware not to be too long, the heater is punishing. The second shot must manag the two pines in the middle of the fairway. The green sloping to back and left is huge and can leave mega-putts !
